Creative Centerpieces for the Inspired Bride

Source: The Inspired Bride

The first thing every bride begins to do is envision how different they want their wedding to be from all the ones they have attended before. Which is kind of our mantra, we cheer for the distinctive differences that are not cookie cutter designs you see at every wedding you have ever attended. Don’t get me wrong, some traditional centerpieces have been some of the most amazing designs I’ve encountered but different is ALWAYS good. Bottom line is they want the “dazzling” factor that will stay in guests' minds when the wedding is all over. So to achieve this look they are stepping out of the box and creating a fabulous non-traditional look.

The other big thing happening today is many couples are the ones who are carrying the cost burden surrounding their big day. So the goal is to get the look they want without going for broke. Makes sense right?

A big expense is usually flowers at the wedding and centerpieces are one area that usually requires a LOT of flowers. Instead, brides are looking at ways to stretch their dollars by using something other than flowers or they are cutting the number of flowers needed by using their imagination to creatively display a minimal number of them. I have done my research and the pictures below are definitely the exception to the rule when it comes to your usual wedding centerpieces. They all can be recreated by the DIY bride and have left me thinking about what I can expect to see at the next wedding…

Think about all the different goblets you could use to create this effect and how inexpensive it would be with just a single flower and votive to top it off.

Pearls in water with a floating candle are simple and classic.

Candy for centerpieces? Absolutely! Wouldn't it go fabulous with a candy buffet at the reception to tie it all in together? Heck, I know brides that love candy so much they carried a candy bouquet down the aisle rather than flowers!

Ah simplicity at its finest. Gather square vases of various sizes and flip them upside down with citrus fruits inside. Pair that with some square white candles climbing opposite heights.

So many great ideas that you can use or maybe your creative juices are now flowing. What do you think? What are you doing different for your centerpieces? We would love to hear about it.

Wedding Shoes SHOUT!

Source: Weddings-Engagement
More and more brides are going with a touch of color to their all white or ivory bridal attire to bring some personality into their wedding and photos. For as long as I can remember every bride was trying to fit into a specific wedding style many opting for the traditional looks you see in photos from decades past.

But today many brides are breaking out of the constricting rules of tradition and opting for fresh, fun, and unique ways to set them apart.

Truth is we all love color and oh how it pops when it is against a blank canvas. Plus the photos say it all when it comes to the brides shoe shots.

Many more brides are going against the grain even more by opting away from dress shoes entirely and going with converse tennis shoes, cowgirl boots, flip flops, and I have even seen bowling shoes converted to fit the bride and her day!

We are a whole new non-traditional generation of brides and we are jumping out of the box with quickness! Brides now want the ability to easily pick their wedding pictures out if they were lined up against other wedding pictures.

What are you doing for your wedding attire that is non-traditional and sets you apart? Or do you disagree with this and think brides should stick with tradition and white color palettes?
